Boutiques can be affordable

Boutiques are expensive. You are not only paying for the merchandise, but also small businesses want to make a decent profit on their products. Therefore, how can you make a boutique affordable?

Reasonable prices

When Brittany and I started Simply Confident Clothing Co., we knew that we wanted to make clothes affordable for our customers.

If I wouldn’t personally buy it for that amount, I will not be charging that.

Unfortunately, we are learning the hard way in our business that it’s a slow roll to be a profitable boutique. There are fees, investments and our time that needs to be put into this business. 

Since having our sons in March 2023, Brittany and I both have taken more time for ourselves, and Simply Confident had to be put on the back burner.  

Rebuilding with vendor shows

In November 2023, we decided to sell at our first vendor show. We joined a show at Wausau West High School in Wausau, WI. Brittany had sold our merchandise at a friend’s business a couple times but this was our first one together. 

We packed up our racks, selected the clothes and kept our prices low and the same across the board to make it easy for credit card only sales - and a few cash & Venmo mixed in. 

The day was so successful, selling more than 20 items and meeting some wonderful people.

Bargain shopper business

Two of the customers had told us that compared to some other boutique clothing at the show, and even in the area, that our stuff was so reasonable.

Boutiques are pricey. I respect any business. I understand why their prices are high. But, boutiques can be affordable. 

Our business is slowly gaining traction. We have a long way to go to be successful. However, the fact that we can still make an impact and capture new customers who love our clothes for our style and price - It’s worth it.

Despite the rise in prices across industries everywhere, we plan to keep our clothes affordable and high quality. 

Building our brand

In 2024, Simply Confident is working on building our brand and customer base. We are so thankful for the customers, family and friends who support us. It’s our mission to organically grow and impact others. 

This means more vendor shows, more blogs, more social posts, more advertising and of course, more clothes.
