Camera ready (or not)

Camera ready (or not)

I hate to disappoint you all but Brittany and I are not models. I know you are shocked. ;) But in order to showcase our clothing, we need to show it on real, beautiful women. And that includes ourselves.

Everyone knows that you are not going to feel confident every day. Bad hair days, bad outfits and bad acne can all lead to us feeling less than extraordinary.

Expect the unexpected

Of course, when Brittany and I plan to take photos, organize the website and get ready to launch, the unexpected occurs - Brit had a cold sore and there was a snowstorm.

I was already worried about driving when I texted her the details on when I would be over and she replies with a “Sounds good. But just so you know, I can’t take pictures today. I have a cold sore.”

“Damn," I replied. Also, wondering if the road conditions would keep me home.

But then I thought, our mission is to help people feel simply confident. We need to be real. Show imperfections because ultimately, shit happens.

I did not suggest Brittany show off her cold sore, but we can still improvise.

Keep on going

Slight camera angles for photos and four-wheel drive on my SUV, we completed our day of photos and more.

Brittany looked incredible in all the photos, and we had a lot of fun! There also was a lot of work with the website and launch planning. Yet, we still continue to work through the bumps to keep going. We achieved all we wanted and more to launch on Jan. 23 - which also came with it's challenges but more on that later.

When life gets you down and you have a cold-sore-on-your-lip-for-a-photo-shoot kind of day, keep on working through it. Take it one step at a time. Things aren't always going to work out the way you envisioned. In fact, they hardly do.

Just remember, you got this!

Stay simply confident,

Kayla
