It’s a common response when someone asks, “How are things going?” You say, “Good but I’m so busy.”
Brittany and I are in the midst of a busy week. It was even difficult for me to take time to write this blog. I had other topics in mind but I wanted to share our experience almost in real-time.
This week, Brittany is getting back to a regular routine after vacation. Vacations are the best but coming back can be worse than went you left. Life doesn’t stop when you are gone. The emails keep coming. The work doesn’t go away.
For me, my “busy” was more of, “I need a break.”My negative attitude was getting the best of me, and I was not fully confident in myself to accomplish all my tasks - at work, at home, as a wife and as a mom.
Perspective matters
Although our name is Simply Confident, we know that being confident all the time is not simple. Life itself is not that simple. It’s ok to feel overwhelmed with all your to-dos, but prioritizing your happiness matters.
It’s important to remember what is really important. Do you have to get everything done right now? You could space it out or come back to some tasks later.
It’s important to remember that life can get busy but you don’t have to feel busy. Your attitude toward something can make a world of difference.
It’s important to remember why you are busy in the first place. You are “busy” because you are great at what you do, or you are “busy” because you were gone from work a week - time will pass. This too shall pass.
In my experience, I didn’t have to write this blog but I chose to write it because I want to help others through hard times. Yes, it was another to-do but it was an important to-do. I want to fulfill our mission to build confidence and connect with our community. This boutique is important to me.
You can be busy but don’t be too busy for your dreams.
Choose happy
I know life gets hard and it gets busy. Just remember, you can choose how you view your busy.
You can be overwhelmed and feel pressure, or you can see all you accomplished and feel strong, confident and fulfilled.
Above all, choose happy. If life is too busy for happiness, something needs to change.
Stay simply confident,
Kayla
