Show kindness to each other

Show kindness to each other

I originally had another post planned for today, but after the events yesterday (May 24, 2022) at a Texas elementary school, I think it is more important that we focus on kindness over confidence.

Brittany and I were in elementary school when the Columbine High School shooting happened in Colorado. At only nine-years-old, I do remember it feeling like a movie as I watched the news. I didn't really understand the ramifications this was having on families - on our country.

As reported by CNN, this Texas incident is the 30th shooting at a K-12 school in 2022. It's heartbreaking to know that some families have to live in fear every day when they send their children to school. That shootings are a regular occurrence, and those stories do not even show up on the news.

Kindness first

Simply Confident Clothing Co. is an online boutique. We aren't here to discuss politics or be a local news source. However, our mission is to build confidence. Our mission is to build a community of kindness, connection and friendships.

We can't build confidence without having kindness for ourselves and others.

Kindness is free. There are no deals or sales on it. You can give and receive it every day without using your credit card.

Change starts with you

Sadly, we can't change the events of yesterday. Our hearts go out to the families, and we pray they find peace.

What we can change is ourselves. Not to sound cliché, but it starts with the "(wo)man in the mirror." Be kind to others. Learn to forgive. Be grateful for your life and appreciate each day. Show love to those around you.

Even on days when it's hard, when you don't feel like anything good is happening for you - be confident that something better is around the corner.

Life is too short to be anything but happy.

Stay simply confident,

Kayla
